History

Finfolk Productions has specialized in high-quality, realistic silicone mermaid tails since 2012. With over a decade of experience, we are committed to creating the finest silicone tails in the mermaid industry. Our work has been featured in films, documentaries, theatrical performances, celebrity events, and our tails are worn in AZA-accredited zoos and aquariums around the globe. We are equally proud to serve hobbyists and independent performers pursuing their passion.

What Is a Silicone Mermaid Tail?

A Finfolk silicone mermaid tail is a high quality, custom fit, hyper realistic swimmable tail crafted from skin safe, platinum cure silicone. They are used by professionals, performers, and enthusiasts for swimming, content creation, and entertainment.

Each tail is built from five core elements: a front and back body piece, a front and back fluke piece, and an internal monofin- all expertly assembled into a single wearable tail. Additional fins, design elements, and accessories can be incorporated to bring your mer-sona to life. With proper use and care, a silicone tail can last for years.

Silicone tails are designed to be worn with the safety and ability of the swimmer always in mind. They are not:

• A swim aid
• A lifesaving device
• A device intended to enhance swimming ability

The Application Process

We will now accept custom orders exclusively through an application-based system. Applications are released on a rolling basis, with availability announced via our social media channels, email subscription list, and our Pod Squad membership Facebook group.

Applications are reviewed based on tier selection, design concept, and production availability. Please note that we no longer offer a waitlist system, and submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance or a reserved production slot.

The Order Process

If your application is accepted, the journey to your dream tail begins! Here's what the journey looks like:

1. Deposit & Measurements: You'll submit a paid deposit, provide your measurements, and be invited to join our custom tail design forum.
2. Design: We'll gather your design notes and inspiration, then draft a concept drawing for your review and approval before any physical production begins.
3. Production:Once your concept is approved, we'll begin pouring and assembling your body, fluke, and any additional fins or accessories. We'll keep you updated throughout and check in for your input at key stages.
4. Final Payment & Shipment: When assembly and paint are complete, final payment is required before your tail ships.

Silicone Tiers

Custom silicone tails are priced across three tiers based on design complexity. Please consider your desired features carefully, as they will determine your tier and baseline pricing. Finfolk reserves the right to assess or adjust tier placement at any point during the design process as your vision takes shape.

Tier 1- $7,500+

• Classic fluke and fin shapes
• Gradient paint
• 0–2 fin sets (hip, heel, or dorsal)
• No patterning
• No blended waist

Tier 2 - $9,500+

• Classic and deluxe fluke and fin shapes (Evenstar Tendril fluke)
• 0–3 fin sets
• Gradient paint with mild patterning or scale tipping
• Blended waist

Tier 3 - $12,000+

• Classic and deluxe fluke and fin shapes
• 4+ fin sets
• Full body patterning
• Scale tipping
• Blended waist
• Crystal additions
